Congratulations on your engagement! Planning for your engagement photoshoot can be exciting, but it can also be nerve-wracking, especially if you’re not used to being in front of the camera. Fortunately, with a little preparation and some helpful tips, you can make your engagement shoot a success and capture some beautiful memories with your partner. BE ON TIME

Arrive in time for the shoot – even better: come a little earlier. Take your time, avoid stress so you can fully enjoy your shoot. Since we only work with natural light, we are very dependent on the sun & the weather here. We will organize our appointments so that we have the perfect light. Most of the time we take pictures in the “golden hour” – i.e. one to 1/2 hour before sunset or one hour after sunrise.

CHOOSE THE LOCATION

In addition to the right location for your engagement shoot, the time of year is also of great importance, because you can of course see it in the pictures. Your favorite location can have a special value for your relationship (first date, first kiss, planned application location, …) or simply be something completely new. An environment always offers more than just a single scenario – we will switch between different angles and locations (within walking distance).

DRESS TO IMPRESS

Celebrate your engagement shoot day and dress up! You can wear jeans and shirt every day, but you can still enjoy such a special occasion! Your outfit and styling has a huge impact on the photos. With the right clothes you can blend in harmoniously with the location and show your personality to the outside world. You are also welcome to wear personal accessories or bring them with you. We also recommend professional makeup & hairstyling. A lot of brides like to test out before the big day. So if you’re interested in that, reach out to someone to see about scheduling that before your session! If you have any concerns – we’ll be happy to send you a few clothing examples and we are available to answer any questions you may have. To be on the safe side, bring spare clothing for a makeover or in case it gets wet.

BREATHE

Even if you’re concerned about looking good in front of the camera; or you don’t know the best way to pose – we can tell you: nobody feels at home in front of the camera right from the start. It’s normal to feel insecure, and it’s good to do an engagement shoot for that too. Our job is to photograph you from the best side and to have fun with you. Our style is very communicative, open & romantic.  “Your job is to be in love. “ So flirt, kiss & cuddle – we’ll take care of the rest.

CELEBRATE THE DAY

One of the best tips for your engagement shoot that we’ve heard a number of times in the wedding industry: Make the day unique for you. The photo shoot should be the highlight, but you can and should enjoy the whole day. Make time for each other. Start the day with a leisurely breakfast for two, laugh at old photos, cuddle for a long time and have a nice meal together in the evening. Makes the day a long date day. With the mindset, you feel connected and romantically in love during the photo shoot – that’s exactly what you can feel in every single picture.
